RULES:

1.    TEAM STRUCTURE

·       Each team has to submit an entry fee of $25 per team.

·       Teams are made up of a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 people consisting of at least:

o   1 male

o   1 female

o   1 child between the age of 4yrs and 14yrs old

o   Infants and children under 4 yrs DO NOT count as team members though they will be allowed to race with you.

·       So-called A team and B teams WILL NOT be allowed each team is separate and ANY “working together” is cause for immediate disqualification.

 

2.    TEAM IDENTIFICATION

·       You must provide matching T-shirts or Caps for every member of your team.

 

3.    TEAM CHECK IN

·       Check in will begin at 8:15am at the Gallery in the Youth Room.

·       Check in will be done on a first come first served basis

·       NO CHECK IN will be allowed after 8:45am

·       THE RACE WILL START PROMPTLY AT 9:00am AND ALL PRE RACE CHECKS HAVE TO HAVE BEEN PERFORMED BY RACE OFFICIALS BY THAT TIME.

 

4.    TEAM PROXIMITY

·       Unless specifically stated OTHERWISE on a route marker or clue, your team must be within 15 feet of each other:

o   When a clue is opened

o   When a roadblock or task has begun

o   Team tasks MUST be completed together

o   When arriving at a race official to receive instruction.

 

5.    USE OF TECHNOLOGY

·       You may only use a simple cell phone with phone call access ONLY.

·       Such a phone must receive an approved sticker from race officials during check in. You are welcome to check the validity of your phone prior to the race as well.

·       The use of cell phones, laptops, iPads or any other device with data access (iPhones, Blackberries, HTCs, Droids etc) is STRICTLTY PROHIBITED. If such phones are found in any vehicle or on any person (whether they were used or not) such phones WILL result in IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION.

·       No walkie talkies

·       NO GPS DEVICES OF ANY KIND, hand held (phone) or car. If your car has a factory installed GPS, try to use a car that doesn’t, if you can’t then race officials will seal the GPS and will check that the seal has remained intact prior to final check in. Any tampering with the seal will result in immediate disqualification.

·       All cars and team members will be searched prior to and at any point during the race and if any such device is found the team is immediately disqualified.

·       If you are unsure about the validity of a device you must check with a race official prior to the race.

 

6.    DETOURS AND ROADBLOCKS

·       EACH TEAM MEMBER will be required to perform one detour or roadblock.

·       If you open the clue, read the detail and decide to change your detour, you will be required to wait a full 10 minutes before attempting the other option.

·       If you have started the one option and want to change you will have to wait 10 minutes but the time you used to try the first option will be subtracted.

·       Any detour or roadblock this is not done will incur a 30 minute penalty.

 

7.    RACE OFFICIALS

·       NO ARGUING with race officials, their decision is final.

 

8.    SAFETY

·       YES, THIS IS A RACE, BUT NOTHING IS WORTH A CAR ACCIDENT!! PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY AND WITH THE RULES OF THE ROAD.

·       PLEASE PARK LEGALLY
